Lunch at Sushi Teh (31 Jan '11)

Went out for lunch today for jap food, yums! My friend discovered a worm in the edamame! thankfully she didn't eat it. The service recovery was pretty prompt and good, free ice-cream, no charge on drinks and 20% discount. Like my friend says, 我们的欢乐建立在她的创伤上。。。 XD

Ah, the day comes to leave Jo'burg. Nothing beats that feeling of coming home. :D

Jacky took Carol, and myself out for lunch today. We went to Festival Mall and had a wonderful time eating at Panacotti's.

Yippie, sun's out! XD had a fun time for devotions this morning, as we had Bible quiz. :D Carol was presented with a nice appreciation gifts for her time spent in Africa training us. Really appreciate all the new stuff I've learnt form her and the African team. :)

Day 13 (27 JAn '11)

Last day of training! Whoopie! After training in the morning, Jacky took us shopping at Bruma market and Greenstone Mall. Oh yea! For dinner, we went to John's and Carol's place. Though I've been there a couple of times, yesterday was the first time I played with their ridgeback. XD We watched North by Northwest after that too. ;)

Day 11 (25 Jan '11)

yea, feeling much better on Tuesday, even though shoulder blades felt very very sore. Thankfully my fever broke on Tuesday wee hours, was able to enjoy the sandwich lunch much better. Winfred and Juliet took us out for dinner at their home, had my first taste of rice on the African continent! :D Enjoyed the after-dinner chat lots. :D

Day 10 (24 Jan '11)

Argh, dun really feel well, as was feverish the night before. Training was gruelling, but dinner was good, thanks to Becky taking us out to Mugg & Beans

Day 9 (23 Jan '11)

Sunday - rest day! Went to church, and then to Chuck's and Darlene's place for lunch fellowship. Their dog, Pavlo is so well-behaved! Had a simple dinner, but caught a slight chill as it was raining very heavily last night

Day 8 Braai (22 Jan '11)

The trainees all gathered for a South African barberque, or a braai on Saturday evening. GHad plenty of meat! bwahahhahaha!!!

Day 8 Lion and Rhino Park (22 Jan '11)

John and his family took Carol and myself out to a nature reserve on Saturday noon. God gave us good weather and we enjoy the the visit thoroughly. My first time up close and personal to wildlife. So fun! XD

Went back early to the lodge after training. Finally, I see sunshine in Jo'burg! XD And they are airing Dragonball Z on telly last evening too! :D Dinner was great, as Gail packed a wonderful meal (enough for 2), each for Carol and myself. Carol's having her leftovers for lunch today. As you can see from mine, I just polished everything off my plate :D

The morning at the lodge before I travelled to the office. It's kinda amazing to see early in the morning on South African TV something about Singapore.

Day 2 (16 Jan '11)

Breakfast was a simple affair of instant me and a big pot of rooibus tea. Thank God didn't experience much jet-lag, had a good 7 hours' sleep. IN the afternoon, John and his family took me out for lunch at Spurs. It's a South African franchise, that has a North American Indian theme. Stupendous cuisinse, the ribs are to die for!

Hmm, missed it on its theatrical run in October last year. Thankfully manged to catch it om MIO TV free movies just now. Awesome! Really REALLY like a video game. Action fighting sequences were superb, and the use of video games ditties, melodies and comics' font effect... A movie for 8-bit games' fan-boys. I <3 <3 <3 Ramona, but wun wanna fight off 7 evil "eck-suss" :p

Larry and Barbara are going to be out-stationed out of Singapore for quite some time. Before they flew off, we took them to NEX Carl's Junior for a real quality burger meal. :D Everybody was stuffed to the brim... XD

Glug glug at Blooie's (05 Jan '11)

Last night went to a new place for beer. We found out that Blooie's at Rail Mall is actually at a quite centralized location for us, so decided to give it a shot. Prices are alright, the nacho dip is fantastic. Service was adequate*, and it's a relatively easy spot to get space. Will be going back again.

*Because of the law of averages. The waiter who took our drinks order was young an a bit inexperienced/blur; while the waitress who served us later in the evening is more service-oriented.

Bag-teria Afterglow and New Year Countdown Party (31 Dec '10)

Realized I took some shots at this party, and haven't uploaded them, up yet. Mike invited us to his place for an appreciation/afterglow/new year's party at his home in the east. I only took a few shots as I was busy playing the new Microsoft Xbox Kinect with the people and makan-ing :D

Came across a DVD that I still haven't watched at home. Decided to pop into the DVD player. "Sweet Rain" is a very Japanese take on death. Certain parts may move slowly, but the actors are all very talented and makes the storyline flow very well.

The Tourist (2010)

Wasn't really keen to watch this. The only thing that got it going was Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. Still, not a bad show. The scenery of Venice is really chio! and Angelina still smoulders, despite her age is showing. And Johny's characters is still outta whack, trying to speak Italian with his Spanish ("bon Jovi!") Still not too sure about the twist at the end, mebbe I'm getting too old now :P
