The Last Bladesman/ 關雲長 (2011)

Caught the sneak-preview, as my friend wanted to watch this. A good action flick, yet the story didn't makes much sense. The fight scenes are superbly choreographed, and there are genuinely funny moments.

But the motivation of the beloved folk-hero Guan Yu are not entirely clear; and the added elements of a fictional love interest is too much for a Three-kingdom fan for me to stomach. I found myself more drawn toward the character of Cao-cao in this show. A tough subject-matter to be translated onto big-screen.

Dinner at Skinny Pizza (28 Apr '11)

Last night a couple of us went to try Skinny Pizza at Wheelock Place. My first time trying the pizzas there - it's good, real good, REALLY REALLY GOOD!!! XD Wanna go back there soon!

Department Outing (28 April '11)

Twice a year, our department gets to get out of the office for a time for fellowship with God and one another, as well as team-building. Yesterday we went to hang out at Orchard Road for our department outing. Had a good meal at Old Town cafe at Cineleisure Orchard (even though the food does costs more).

Thor (Digital format) (2011)

Caught this juts now. Saw the 3D thriller and found it disturbing, so decided to watch the digital format instead. Story was okay, but pacing was uneven. At time slow, at time exciting, at times boring, and at times hilarious.

Oh, I watched it primarily for Natalie Portman.Unfortunately, she's more like just eye-candy in this film. Oh, and catch Stan Lee cameo as usual. XD

Easter Sunday Dinner (24 Apr '11)

My friend invited me over for Easter Sunday dinner. I totally forgot about it until she messaged me 3 hours before the dinner. :p Am glad that she did, because it was a wonderful meal she and her husband prepared. Had good food and good fellowship sharing about questions, theology and views of Christ.

Yesterday had to take leave to stay home to wait for the OpenNet contractor to come and fix up the cabling for fibre-optics broadband. Won't be subscribing to any fibre-optics broadband yet, as it's still pricey; plus my old PC can't handle the hi-speed. Wait for price to drop first.

Dinner at Oriole (13 Apr '11)

Some of us went downtown on Wednesday night to go chekc out the Borders Warehouse sales at Scape. Before that, we had dinner at Oriole.Been a while since I've been there. It's really fun to come out once in a while to let down our hair and feast to our hearts' content.

Really funny show, the music really makes this film a riot, with the groovy samba beat. Am regretting not catching it in 3D, as the coloring of the 2D format feels a bit off. Ay caramba!

Happy Gilmore (1996)

My friend always said this is a great comedy show, but I don't have much memories of it. Came across it in the video section at the library section, so decided to watch it. No wonder I didn't hear of this, this was one of Sandler's earlier shows (before the Wedding Singer). It's funny at certain points, and Ben Stiller also was in it! (albeit his role was uncredited). Doesn't make me wanna pick up golf though... :p

Sucker Punch (2011)

Great action sequences and fighting choreography, backed up good use of music and soundtrack.Let down by a super duper lame plot though. Expected more of the story from the director who gave us "300" and "Watchmen".
