on another great wedding just past
Last Saturday went to attend the wedding of one of my dear JC friend and brother-in-Christ, Aaron. Man, what a great wedding! really rejoiced with him at marrying one godly & "chio" lady. I've watched this brother grow up from being that gangly, hormone-crazed, angstful 17 year old in the past, to the fine, Godly man that he is today. Praying that he and Shirley will really have a wonderful time together, serving the Lord and one another in love and in grace.
Think what touched me most is the words Aaron said to his dad*. They have had some issues in the past; but praise be to God, I think Aaron has matured and moved on from there. They hugged one another, to the applause of the crowd in the parish. Somehow I just imagined our Heavenly Father also applauding that act of reconcilliation, from His throne in Heaven...
As I remarked to my General Paper teacher from junior college, not many people left in my JC class that's still single and available liao, all "dropping off like flies" to marriage next one will be another dear brother, Ivan "Botak", who incidentally is holding a church wedding on Boxing day.^ Can't wait for it to come!

* "Phua, that crazy old man ah..." Yes, aaron did use those words...
^ never thought i see Ivan accepting Christ, but the Lord is mysterious in His ways

Ocean Floor
Audio Adrenaline - Ocean Floor
From the album Lift
The mistakes I've made
That caused pain
I could have done without
All my selfish thoughts
All my pride
The things I hide
You have forgot about
They're all behind you
They'll never find you
They're on the ocean floor
Your sins are forgotten
They're on the bottom
Of the ocean floor
My disdeeds
All my greed
All the things that haunt me now
They're not a pretty sight to see
But they're wiped away
By a mighty wave
A mighty wave, mighty wave
They're all behind you
They'll never find you
They're on the ocean floor
Your sins are forgotten
They're on the bottom
Of the ocean floor
Take them away
To return no more
Take them away
To the ocean floor

After-thoughts:
Many a times, when I fall short of God's standards, I berate myself for falling short. I tend to dwell on "Oh, why am I so weak? I shouldn't be tempted by this anymore!" or "Why am I so stupid? This is the dumbest thing I could have ever done!" yeaps, many a time I play junior Holy Spirit in my life, when I should be listening to Him...
But God is gracious and merciful - He reminds me that I am now not yet the finished product He intended - still WIP ("Works In Progress"). God, outside the constraints of space and time, have already forsee my end, my finaly state. Even though I may fail God, He will never fail me. Out of the miry clay, He will lift me high above. Not by my works, but by His grace. There are still areas in my life that still needs to be moulded by God. It's not all easy and painless, being subjected to the Master's ministerings. But I know He is faithful - as long as I am willing, He is able!
Psalm 103:11-13 (New International Version)
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
