morning woke up to the alarm clock ringing at 5.30am. Was a bit groggy and disoriented - why did I set the alarm so early in the morning? Then remembered have to go attend the church Men's prayer meeting. Chop chop got outta the house and took a bus to church.* Missed the worship session of the morning prayers, but am really glad to be still able to make if for the praying session. My prayer-partner, Soon Yong, joked that I came just in time to answer his prayers for a prayer buddy. Joined in prayers with Adrian, and had a good time in the Lord with my fellow brothers.
Over breakfast fellowship was "kenah" teased about my wounds that were colored in iodine. Aiyo, only a few skin abrasions only what, machum like I "kenah" something worse than leprosy... :D still dun mind the ribbing la. good harmless fun at my expense. "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me."** :p Pastor Kay Kiong joined us at the breakfast table, and we meandered our conversation onto his Greek experience. :D Found out the Pastors use Logos to help them in their preparation of the sermons. Seems like a very "powderzfool" utility, but doubt I will invest in one.
Went down to the "underground church" after breakfast, where Pastor Ed took the last leg of the "Climb mountain, cross river" series. Interesting session, taught us a new Hebrew word acharith (pronounced "arh-ka-reeth", a bit like clearing your throat :D). Well, if he were to choose three words that are most crucial to him in the Old testament, this would be one of them. Basically it means "the end". Thanks be to God that I was there to absorb this important nugget of knowledge.
Didn't stay around for the small group discussion. Had to go home to prepare to meet my friend's sister to bring her to SKS. She wanted to buy some reference materials, and were contemplating between investing in a concordance or a bible dictionary. And I needed to go and collect my 7 copies of "Names of God". Had a good time of spending time in the warehouse absorbing the nearness of books. :D Bought myself another book, a book on prayer by Thomas Merton. Hopefully can finish it soon and review it.
Brought the "little girl"^ to Chinatown, and wanted to treat her to nice desert place that my friend showed me the other day. Turns out she already knew that place, as she frequents that place with her sister (my friend). When we were about to finish, my friend called and wanted to join us. So have to wait for her to come and have a second round of deserts. good time catching up with my friend, even for that little while. After that, the 2 sisters wanted to go shopping, so I immediately made my escape^^. :P
Went home, threw my purchases down and had a good dinner at home. After that, decided not to "o-tang" my friend anymore that piece of writing assignment which I was supposed to give her almost 4 weeks back. Yes, the procrastination bug bitteth me again. Even though I had a whole truck-load of excuses (mostly legit ones somemore), I was reminded by one of my network's contact's entry, something about not delaying to others what you can give them immediately. Basically it's just laziness and ill-discipline on my part lah. So bit the bullet and lo and behold, I managed to do the article in under 2 hours! Another lesson learnt - will and commitment is most important in any endeavor. After that, sent a short and humbling e-mail, hoping she wun bite my head off^^^.
Ah, another fruitful Saturday gone....

** which is a piece of worldly advice on based on any biblical values at all. If words cannot change you, then how can we benefit from the Word of God? Think that through...
^ only in size la; she's 25 already, cannot be considered little. Anyway, I know of some 25-year old women who can beat me up anytime I want. Cos I'm a wimp... :D NOT~
