on beginner's luck...

yesterday had to stay back in church in the afternoon for meeting. Since we had some time from lunch, we decided to teach a friend of ours to play the card game "Munchkins".

Basically, it's like playing the role-playing game "Dungeons and dragons", just that with simplified rules so you do not need to spend 3 hours on characters' creation before you even start playing the game. Well, for "Munchkins", you just need about 10 minutes of explanation, before you start playing.

after explaining briefly the rules, we started playing the game. And my newbie friend keeps getting the treasure cards and level up cards! Arrghh, talk about beginner's luck. Within 4 rounds, she levels up to be a level 7 dwavern wizard...

in the midst of playing, a pastor came over to ask us what's the game is about. Er, so just told him it's a card game that's good for ice-breaking, then tells us to works towards a certain goal, yada yada... :P well, after seeing that it was a harmless card game, he told the newbie friend of ours to introduce the game to him next time. :D yeaps, beginner's luck...

Well, in the end, we couldn't finish the game in time, as the meeting was going to start. So we declare the newbie friend the winner, since she had the most levels.
