1st shots with my S730

Yes, this is my humble abode, the sanctuary which I share with my brother. A tad messy, abut also where I call home... :P

yea, no matter what, the Camera shake warning keep appearing. So I gotta keep working on steadying my hands, I guess

  3. Aye... you know why got camera shake? Cos its night time and you need a tripod for night shots! =) Go get 1! They cost under $20 in photo shops! Hee..

  5. I think what you meant is that at night the camera responds to the lower amount of light by increasing the exposure time. Cuz of that any slight movement starts to show up in the pictures.

Tripod stand sure fixes that issue.

  6. Confirm... don't worry, yes, the camera gives you a slower shutter to compensate for the lack of light, in order to have a nicely exposed picture.

You see, in old days when we were using film, film has a certain material on it that responds to light. More light, more development on it. If too much light, the film becomes white. If too little, it remains black. If just nice, got the colours come out. Light causes a chemical reaction on these film, which in turn gives us a picture.

In the same way, modern day technology has enabled pictures to be captured in the same way, though many folks may not understand why a slower shutter means a blur picture.

If you want to overcome this, there are only 3 ways:

    1. Get a tripod
    2. Set your aparture to the largest possible (if you have such a function)
    3. Push up the ISO/ change the settings to over-expose the picture by 1-2 stops.

    Have a great time shooting!

  7. woooo, thanks for all the thorough geeky explaination. I can feel myself evolving into a top-notch photographer already... :p

But really really thanks for the tips. Now if only I can get past all those minuscule icons on the LCD screen,,, on how to boost up my ISO setting...
