My friend showed us these video clips during this morning's devotions. He shared that Shawn Micheals is his 2nd all-time favorite WWE star*.
I'm not really familiar with him, since I stopped watching wrestling after secondary school. Still, you can feel the authenticity of this man's sharing.
My fav used to be Hulkamania. Then came along Rocky. Too bad Rocky left for hollywood, thus leaving me with HBK.
Yeah... i love sweet chin music.
Oh by the way, you know he sang his entrance song himself?
His t-shirts in the recent years were quite geared towards Christ. One of his t-shirts which WWE launched a few years back featured this "All things are possible..." on the back, and a pic of the cross on the front. Wanted to get it, but it was only in black, and too hot for me. =P
Nevertheless, i think WWE had Eddie Gurrero as the other Christian who's really behaved the way Christ taught him. In the video after his death, one of the wrestling ladies mentioned that he would used to take out his bible and share God's word with her during those road trips.
Its tough to be a Christian wrestler in a company like WWE, if you've been following the kind of plots which Vince Machmon have been churning out in the recent years. Not exactly very fantastic, but its great that folks like Shawn Michaels stood by God's teachings.
Thanks for sharing this. Shawn Michaels has been my all time favourite wrestler, I had watched wrestling for years but stopped 6-7 years ago. I'm really blessed by his sharing - "be a light in the darkness".
very interesting.... thanks for posting this... :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoy it.
