on lamentations of the first born...

or not. Three of us sat down at Greenridge foodcourt after attending the 1st service in church today. Initially just wanted a quick bite of breakfast and head home to catch up on my blogging and e-mail. Who knows the during-meal conversation turns to very interesting areas, and we stayed there till around 12+.

All of us are the eldest in our immediate families, and we were just comparing our childhood growing up, with the various responsibilities, "woes" and perks of being the first one to pop into this world before our siblings. We shared stories of managing our parents' and siblings' expectations. It's amazing that though each family have their own unique situation, some of the lessons are actually universal.

One interesting theory I learnt from my friend:

"If in a rich household, one must be the first-born;

If in a poor household, one must be the last-born".

I leave you all to ponder the wisdom of this statement...
