YouTube - Bo Bice "Blades Of Glory" music video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DP3PYz-Zpb4
If you wanna catch the show, don't watch this, as it will give away some of the jokes away.

If you aren't planning on catching the show, then enjoy this clip.

Yes, the song IS cheezy...

Blades of Glory (2007)

Man, needed a serious dose of laughter, so went for this show last night. Laughed my head off at all the silly gags, visual and verbal.

Will Ferrel and Jon Hedger really have chemistry*, pulling it off with comic flair
and timing all their lines and antics. Actually this is quite a star-studded cast, with all the comic heavy-weights. A must watch!

on the new record for time taken to go home after work...

yeaps, yesterday's journey set a new record. I took 2 hours and 35 mins to travel from my office to the bus terminal in my area. I did not go home after this long, LONG journey, because I needed movie therapy to wash away the tiredness of the day.

What happened was I left office around 6.10pm. Everyday, I have to take 2 buses in my journey, to travel across from Bedok area to Woodlands. If I leave office on the dot at 5.30pm sharp*, I usually take 1 hour 15 min to 30 to travel back. But last evening, had to take care of some stuff to prepare for today's meetings, so stayed till around 6-ish.

When I reach the bus-stop at Eunos at 6.25pm, I was kinda apprehensive because the evening traffic that was on the road was really SLOW-going. I was wondering how long it will take my bus to come in the face of such snail-paced traffic,

It took 35 mins for that 1 single bus to come.

Now I understand that public bus companies have been doing their utmost in improving the satisfaction of the commuters by providing us with more air-conditioned buses, or more seats, or even with on-board telecasts**. But would it hurt their profits just to provide an additional one or two buses for a particular across-the-island service during peak hours??

After I managed to squeeze myself onto the bus at 7.05pm, it took another staggeringly-slow 1 hour 20 minutes to travel from Eunos to Woodlands. on this portion, I have to commend the bus captain, who made sure that that the passengers moved as far back to occupy the back stretches of the bus. he also tried to stop at every stop to pick up passengers, on account that  he knew a lot of people have been waiting more than 30 mins at each stop for his bus. Alas, there were only so many additional passengers that he could take onto his bus.

Thank God that we all made it back to the terminal in one piece. The bus was packed to the brim; I'm not sure whether it was overloaded with passengers or not, but I gave a quick thanks-giving prayer one my feet touched the blessed ground of Woodlands.

Man, I need to find an alternative to go back home after 6pm...

*which I do most of the time, cause my office don't believe in making people stay beyond the stipulated time.

** which is not really a boon actually. I prefer my peace and quiet, rather than watching flickering screens on the bus, which at times gives off loud sounds of static.

Sotong me, early in the morning made a boo-boo. Actually sent birthday well-wishes to my friend, who has the same name with another of my Multiply contact. My friend sms-ed back and said not her birthday today leh. So "malu-ating", talk about being more blur than usual :p

Moral of the story: Wake up and double-check before you sent any well-wishes.

haha, was discussing something with my friends, when the topic turned to Ultraman...

Here's a piece of nostalgia for all the 70s babies...

on holding back the floodgates...

I see heaven before me
Angels passing around me
Here i stand in awe of your beauty
Captured by your holiness

...of tears during worship. Last Sunday, was really touched by the Spirit during the worship session. When we started to sing "Lift Up Your Eyes", I was chuckling initially at first, cos I mistook this for A Hillsong piece, and was thinking in my heart " Wa piangz eh, we're going Darlene liao..."*

Lift up your eyes
All of heaven's in worship
Angels rejoice and the clouds will be filled
With the wonder of your name
With the wonder of your name

Yet the joke's on me (I guess), as the song progresses, my tears came flooding unbidden, by the time we sang the second stanza. I couldn't sing the third stanza without breaking down in public openly. So I just closed my eyes, look down and tried some deep breathing. Look up, read the lines of the third stanza as it was being sung by the rest of the church, and boy-o-BOY, was the tear ducts going into over-production.

The train of his robe fills the temple with glory
Heavenly hosts fall before him in worship
Crying Holy,Holy,Holy is the Lord God Almighty

Of course, being macho aggro, I tried to hold them back by tilting my head upwards and biting the tip of my tongue to squeeze them back into my tear ducts**.  Surprisingly, that worked... for about 15 seconds. But by the time I hit the last line, I can't control as a drop of tear came rolling out...

Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty

[Jesus said] "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." - John 4:23-24 (NIV)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against Hillsong or Darlene - in fact, their songs are superbly written, and they do lead people into the presence of God. I just feel sometimes when people tell me that they love Hillsongs or Darlene because it just makes them feel so close to God. The sorta bad vibes I get is that it's an emotional thing only i.e. the songs only made people feel good...

** Duh, not the wisest thing to do; but then again, I am NOT a wise man. :D

Spider-Man 3 (2007)

Rating:★★★★
Category:Movies
Genre: Action & Adventure
Was contemplating between having an early night's rest, or go watch Spidey. in the end, gave in to the urge and go caught it at my neighbourhood cinema, Even though I got a lousy seat, I enjoyed the show tremendously. Will write more of my thoughts in my blog...

Worth to watch it on the weekend! :D

on a windy Tuesday...

Nope, I was not outdoor, so am not referring to the weather conditions outside. Had 2 big bowls of mushroom-onion soup at my friend's place last night. While the soup was absolutely yummy-licious, it also gave me a lot of flatulence*. Had to keep going to to the toilet to avoid being an olfactory** nuisance in the office... :D Save the environment, don't produce greenhouse gas!

*i.e. need to fart a lot la, in plain speak :p

** I.e. in simple English, not being an air-pollutant. Pronounced "Old-fag-ter-ree"^

^ My friend asked me how to pronounce this in office today - I was like "err, too cheems sia"...

Simple to do, get a pack of Meiji Plain crackers, scatter some cheese over each and toast for about 2-3 minutes. Wash down with fresh cherry-tomatoes and a big glass of Meiji Milk... Tadah~ healthy breakfast!

on a great Saturday shooting and catching up...

yea, it was a great day today~ Spend some time familiarising myself with my new digicam. The weather was fantastic for taking shots in the afternoon (clear blue sky with big fluffy clouds for the occasional shade). Took from my favourite photo haunt at St. Andrew's Cathedral till across the road till Esplanade.

Well my digicam cannot compare with the "big toys" my friends have, I am slowly learning on how to improve my picture composition despite the limitations of my camera (and photography skills :p ). Well, I still can't get the hang of the manual focus settings on my camera - but can now at least take passable shots with Digi-maru*

Didn't stayed around for too long under the hot sun, as I had an appointment with some of my old university kakis at Orchard. Had to turn down another group's dinner invitation for the evening, as I promised my mother I'll be home for dinner.^

Still, it was good catching up with this group as I haven’t met up with them in a group since l got my present job around half a year ago. So went there to Toast at Ngee Ann City, and had a good time of catching up with one another over sandwiches and ice-lemon drinks. If not for this group, I probably won’t know all the hip and happening budget-price places in town. ;P After that, wandered around the shops waiting for another friend to come, before bading them farewell…

Okay, less words, more pics! Must go upload my day’s worth now :D

 ----------------------------------------------------

* Name of my new camera - yesh, certainly lacks creativity. But I'm sort of a UNcreative person... :D

^ Yea, not because I 乖乖仔 or what – this month went over-budget, what with my purchase of Digi-maru. Plus my mom did complain it’s hard to see me these-days on weekends. So better have some “face time” with her before I go for my overseas trip at the end of the month ah.. :D

on being blessed with abundance yesterday's morning...

Yea, He was good to me yesterday, when I didn't expect it. People showering with small gestures of kindness. Must give thanks ah, to glorify my Abba Father:

1) Free breakfast! :D Early in the morning, was treated to a scrumptious nasi lemak meal by my colleague. She called our department and was taking orders for breakfast*. I was craving for the deep-fried chicken wing as well as the super-shiok chilli of that particular Malay stall, so I ordered one person's portion. When she came over to deliver, she mentioned it was "gratis, on her" when I offered to pay.

*Kar-ching*~ Savings of $2.50 on my yesterday's daily expenses! Thank you, Abba!

2) Free tea-break! Another colleague brought back some snacks from her China trip - it was the peanuts coated with caramel block. Very the nice~ As I was in meeting, didn't get to thank her personally. Finished the whole block** and MSN-ed her my thanks~

*Kar-ching*~ Another savings of $0.50 on my yesterday's daily expenses! Thank you, Abba!

3) Usually we get to leave office 30mins earlier on Friday's evenings. So I rushed out "zhun zhun", as I was anxious to not get stuck in the human rush for the buses at the bus-stop. As I waited for my kaki to go home, she called me back and said we could get a lift from another colleague^! Was really glad as I had to go meet my 2 other friends at Choa Chu Kang - the ride home not only shaved off a bit on the bus-fares , but also precious minutes of the travelling time!

*Kar-ching*~ Saved money and time! Thank you, Abba!

4) Met up with my 2 kakis from secondary school days. Had a good time catching up with one another over "kopi" and playing arcade games - yesh, the kind of friendships where you don't have to talk a lot and yet enjoy each others' company^^. After a good game, my friend offered to drive us home~ And my other friend offered to pass me some rechargeable batteries for my new toy. Woo hoo! Not only blessed by my friends' generosity, but also their gesture of love.

Thank you, Elohim and Jehovah-jireh, for seeing my needs and providing them, and sending angels in the form of people around me. Really felt like a sparrow yesterday...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Common office culture bah, for those offices that start work at 8.30am sharp. We usually spend the first 30mins of our office hours doing staff devotions and praying for one another. That's why most of us chose to go to canteen and buy breakfast after that. Fill our spiritual stomachs first, then our physical ones ah...

** For some reason, was very hungry despite the full breakfast and lunch. Guessed it was the cold morning weather cum long-meetings - no, we don't provide donuts like in those Dilbertian meetings...

^ Usually won't get to take this colleague's car, as it's always in "hot demand". We call it our office "school-bus" service :D Am really blessed whenever I take her car, cos not only saved time and money, but get to "talk-cock-sing-song" with the company aboard the car. Fellowship more important ah :D

^^ or what commonly termed as the ministry of presence, being present to the people you spent time with.

on "shi mi si"* failure...

My friend just forwarded me this - for all those who feel that they're failures and losers, take heart~

on getting a new face-lift...

nope, not extreme makeover. Just went to collect my new identification card ( I.C., pronounced "aye see"/‘爱吸') ah, this afternoon. Yea for 13 years, lived with a geeky image of myself from my junior college days on my IC -

Before

Yeaps, dunno what was I thinking at that time. Think I was kinda self-conscious of my high forehead back in younger days, and tried to do a comb-over.* And for some reason, I don't really how to smile in portrait shots, that's why the extra-constipated look.**

Anyway, for those who are Singaporean citizens who made their ICs before they reached the age of 20, they are required BY LAW to change a new IC when they hit 30. So upon reaching the magical age, being much wiser about self-branding/imaging, this is the "a-jack" version 1.1:

After

Much smarter right? More composed, less constipated. At least now can see the outline of my nose. A pity there's no color on the IC still. No matter how I look at them, both the portrait-shots reminds me of funeral pictures... :P

----------------------------------------------------------------------

* the Sakura-complex, for all those who are Naruto-otaku, they will know what I mean...

** People always wondered why I always make funny faces when my photographs are being taken. Well, now they know, I don't look good when I smile :D

YouTube - The Gayest Weatherman Ever!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0YW6JYjDLU
The title says its all...

Turn up the volume towards the end... Hilarious!

on having perfect strangers popping by my site...

Well, nowadays getting more and more traffic on this site. Seems like people who are not remotest-ly connected to me in any fashion have been visiting my blog page. Well, most of them are directed here through their search of music - see, if you want people to drop by, must share obscure and hard-to-find music... :p

On another note, the readership has been pretty constant - the same old company of die-hards who seems to thrive on the seemingly-organic* stuff I put in my blog. Of cos' many of them do not have a choice, since I put them on a mailing list, bwaHAHAHAHAAHHAhahahahahahaha.....Ahahahahaaa...aha... erhmm. Sorry for that maniacal laughter.

*"pseudo-trash"?

P.S. If you can recognise the cast at the top of this post, you would have given away your age - it'll probably puts you as someone born before the 1980s, and one who was old enough (aged 13+) to appreciate this sitcom when it was aired. No prize for knowing the name of this series~

With All I Am

okay, this tune has been stuck in my brains since morning. Well, the devotional leader hummed a bit of this song and made reference to this in his delivery of message, and can't seems to get this outta my head.

Went for CG, and hummed this. Then my friend said she also have been "hooked" on this song- listening and singing to this from YouTube. Then when the worship leader tonight came in through the door, he too was humming this tune...

Coincidence or divine interruption? You decide...
