on my first appraisal...

yeaps, went for my first appraisal yesterday at the office. It's been around 9 weeks since I joined the organisation, and my confirmation date is set in about 2 weeks' time. So my supervisor and myself sat down for a friendly chat, catching up on what I have been doing for the past 2 months.

It was a good and open session. We had a good talk-through, on assessing on my strengths (teachable, not afraid to ask questions) and my weaknesses (a bit careless on the finer details). I got a lot of neutral score (between 1-5, the half-way score is 2.5). My supervisor was very upfront about it, she said, "Aiya, you've only been here 2 months plus, still haven't been through a lot yet, so cannot really rate you la..." And frankly, I agree with her. It's a new start, and I got a long way to go yet. Just wanted to give thanks for a stress-free and worry-free chit-chat. Now that goals are set, at least I have some targets to shoot down!

-------------------------------------------------

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air.

No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
