on you are special

Haha, the devotional leader said he'll do something "unorthodox"  for staff devotions this morning*. He read us a story book, "You are Special" by Max Lucado. He began by introducing that most stories written for children are meant for adults as well. That while stories are written to captivate and teach children, they also speaks to the child inside us adults as well. So he read to us a story he used to read to his own children, and the kids he taught at Sunday school.

I always know Lucado for his more "serious" books. So it's a joy to behold his ministry of writing that can come to bless the little ones as well.

If you never read this book before, go pick it up, and read it over. You can glance it over in 15 minutes, but I encourage you all to read it out aloud (so as to slow down the reading).

*ahaha, and one of my fellow co-worker immediately shouted "Heretic!", much to my amusement.
