on the difference between trees and houses...

My friend sent this sms early in the morning, which blesses my heart. May it bless yours too-

" 'The difference between trees and houses is that houses are built but trees grow, and anything which grows is always more beautiful to look at than anything which built - Lin Yutang, writer.' God creates trees, man build houses. Don't 'build' Christians, let His people grow...'"

  2. Wa. Must write down. Seems like what is built is dependent on what is planned but how something grows is dependent on the response to what is given...??

  4. We can predict what a building will look like from its plans and drawings, it's supposed to be an exact copy of what is planned and we make corrections when it is not. However, for a tree, the shape it takes depends on how it responds to the elements and interventions that happen along the way, whether it receives the rain, takes in the nutrients, how it responds to the direction of the sun and wind, whether it quits growing when there are cement structures around it, does it grow around its obstacles and later break through them, etc etc etc.
