Caught up with my friend who just came back from a month working trip in Jogjakarta last night. He was there to help coordinate some relief work for the earthquake-hit area. Am glad to catch up after a month of absence - missed his ineffable humor and corny one-liners. :p He still looks a bit tired, because he was working yesterday. But other than that, he looks okay. Gave thanks that even though he had harrowing brushes with some mini-quakes, on the whole, he and his team was protected from physical harm.
Guess what struck me more during the sharing was his candid manner of describing the ways some Christians pissed him off. :D I guess it's inevitable, even though one might be doing relief work, one can still carries bad habits from the working world and make life more miserable for the team. And I guess the Lord is making my friend learn more about growing patience and grace in his work (my friend's, not God's :D). Will continue to pray for my friend, even as he ploughs on in his work. haha, we all need prayers and encouragement in our daily work. So do pray and encourage someone today...
