okay, had this weird conversation amongst the few of us walking over to a friend's place after church yesterday's afternoon. The boyfriend of one of my friend just came back from London for his summer study break. So one of my friend asked him what is a "spotted dick". Reason being he keeps hearing how the Brits love it. Then the boyfriend said there's no way the British could have come up with such a name for anything, them being the cultured and refined folks, with their Queen's English and what-nots. So we actually wanna do a "Google-search" or wikipedia search. But we forgot all about it after arriving at the destination, because we all wanna play our favourite card game.
So here's the answer to that question. A spotted dick is a British Desert. Don't asked me why it's not a spotted Tom, or a Spotted Henry. Ask a Brit, he might be able to tell you...

ReplyDeleteI dunno. It came up in the Google Image search, and I thought it kinda funny. MAybe the teddy's name is Dick? Either way, the lesser of two evils. Imagine naming your product, Teddy Dick... *snigger snort snort*
