ah, have been slowing down in my Bible-reading schedule these past few months. One is heavily being distracted by other things in life. Another is that the books of Kings ain't something you can browse quickly over.
One of the things that struck me is that how the good kings don't exactly get through their reigns without a spot of trouble. Nether do the bad kings suffer immediate judgement for committing sins in their lives and leading their subject astray. In that, I saw God is good in His everlasting mercy and grace towards all. No matter what, He sends His rain over all, be they righteous or wicked. He gives time for the sinners to repent, yet He did not withhold suffering from HIs believers.
