ok, should have written this entry at least a week ago, but was just too busy/distracted/lazy. Well, here goes nothing:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
First group was a bunch of crazy people whom I kept in contact with since university days. One of them just came back from his one-year study trip in London, while another is back for his field study research in his Ph.D ("Permanent Head Damage", as we joked about it). It was a great gathering as we gathered first for dinner at Lau Pa Sat*, and then adjourned to chill out at the TCC at the corner of Circular Road. We were much intrigued and mused by the layout on the second level of the cafe. Reminded us of some water-smoking joint - and the beanbags takes a while to get used to. All that was lacking was dancing girls to transform the place into a boudoir of Oriental settings... :p

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Second meeting was with a friend whom I haven't seen in a few months. Reason being she is pregnant, and was going through heaves and toils during the1st trimester of the pregnancy. I'm not kidding about the heaves and the toils. Everytime see her online on MSN, she will complain about the vomiting and the dizzy spells**.
Well, at least she has just gone past the 1st 3 months, and I think her body is getting used to the chemical changes. But I think she's still in shock (and possibly denial). She's barely getting used to the fact that she's married, and now she's gotta cope with the fact she's going to be a mother in about half a year's time. Well, had a good time talking about all the possible names not to give to her future kid. Yesh, according to my friend, gotta think at least of a pleasant sounding name that won't emotionally scarred her child for life... :D
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Last significant meeting was with a bunch of totally new people. My friend had to bring a partner of the opposite sex for one of her office parties. She asked me to go along because she "can't think of anyone else already"^. Well, I've never been one to turn down free food and free drink. Only consideration was that it was on a Friday night, which was a cell-group night for me. Then I asked myself this, "Will CG collapse if I (the CGL) was not around for one session?" I don't think so. Anyway, I still have my fellow leaders to assist in the leading. And frankly, I gotta get out to meet new people.
And it was a good session, of talking^^ and listening#, and eating and drinking. I realised I sort of lost my socialising skills at making small talk already##. So throughout the meeting, I adopted the "stance of the wall flower". I sipped my wine, nodded and smile politely, and kept on encouraging the other party to talk. Then at least I don't have to spend so much brain juice trying to come up with topics of conversation. oh, and I get to eat more food that way... niak niak niak
----------------------------------------------------------------------
well, that's all for today. wanted to keep it short, but now have written too much again...
* Yes, that place still sells adequate food, despite many contrary beliefs. It's alright food for the centralised location, especially for the busy working people in Shenton way and Central business District (CBD).
** Of course, I can't really empathise with her problems, being male and all that. I can only thank God I don't have to go through whatever she's going through. :P
^ Don't know whether to feel flattered ("I was asked to go for a party leh"...) or insulted ("...because she can't think of anyone else already".)

## Actually I wondered if I had any in the first place... I don't really know how to make small talk, like Dilbert
