Egads, where have the time flown? 1st quarter of 2008 has come and gone. Time to review my 2008 resolutions~
From my previous blog
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My 2008 resolutions, Lord willing, are:
1) cut down from my 87 kilo till about 75 kilo (2 "pruss pruss" kilo a
month)
2) pick up the guitar (not to "xian za bor")
3) finish reading the New Testament of the Bible once
4) Go climb Kinabalu!~
5) Go for 10 "click" at SC run
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So here are the updates:
1) cut down from my 87 kilo till about 75 kilo (2 "pruss pruss" kilo a
month)
- Just went for my company health check last friday. Took my weight and it's still hovering at the 85 kilo mark. ("O woe is me, waily waily waily...")
2) pick up the guitar (not to "xian za bor")
- Haven't saved enough to buy myself a guitar. (*Rent garments out and beats chest*)
3) finish reading the New Testament (NT) of the Bible once
- By His grace, finished reading through 1 & 2 Corinthians, & Galatians. Also finished all the psalms^. Thinking of starting to read a chapter a day on the major prophets.
4) Go climb Kinabalu!~
- ok, because of timing issues, can't do this with my friends this year. Probably have to push back to next year, Lord willing...
5) Go for 10 "click" at SC run
- As you can surmise, if I had been training, I wouldn't be still at the 85 kilo mark, so ...
Well, though my resolutions still looks like they are in a bit of a hotch-potch and mish-mash, I still give thanks for the other things that happened so far in my life. Still got 75% of the year left to finish these goals - "Can do!"
^ok, Psalms are not part of NT. So i'm weird, capish?
My aim is to gain 2 kg per year and i cannot even achieve that for the past few years...hahaha...talking about grass is greener on the opposite bank... :D
ReplyDeleteSir, regarding your resolutions, i have a few suggestions? Hee..
ReplyDelete1) Cut down weight? Don't worry, once you embark on your no. 5 goal, this should come in automatically. Don't aim to just cut down weight, because some of us just have heavy mass, but instead aim to reduce body fats and get your body toned.
2) No money to buy guitar? Borrow loh... there should be enough folks with extra guitars from church to be kind enough to lend you theirs. Ha..
3) Check out the 1 year bible reading plan from Biblegateway.com
4) No comments. Out of my league man. Haha..
5) Refer to 1. If you want to train, feel free to join the Covenent Runners. We have a mini group of runners that meet once in a while to run together. Other than that, we all run on our own. I know Angela and Steve also join races. Chee Weng is siao on running one. Grace also runs. Barbra runs. Mark runs. We all run. If you're keen to sign up for 10km, i'm sure one of us should be able to accompany you! Hee..
Grrr... not helping. :p
ReplyDeleteah, you wait, wait till you hit the big 3-0, niak niak niak...
erm...I've just reached the mark...hahaha
ReplyDeleteThank you, kind sir. In response...
ReplyDelete1) yesh, just had a health talk after the company free medical check-up, the "swee swee" presenter tell us must watch this la, must watch that la, this got how many tablespoons (tsp) of sugar, that got how many tsp of fats, which translates into how much calories (kcal).
Unfortunately, i'm pretty bad at maths. And the information of "1 siew mai a day is all that you can eat to blow the calories limit" ain't much of a comfort. Oh waily waily waily....
2) Uhm, I'm already in debt so dun think I wanna go into further debt. :p If the Lord really wants me to learn how to play guitar, He will drop a guitar into my lap la ... :P
3) oh, they have it? ok, will check, thanks.
4) waaaaaa, so there are some things that our super SM (Stage Manager) also cannot do? :P
5) erm, I dun think I can keep up wid you guys. You guys porbably go on and run in formation; awhile I straddle behind. Thanks for the invite though ;P
Ok, I guess as a supportive friend I can only do the following:
ReplyDelete1. Stop feeding you olive oil & balsamic vinegar with baguettes;
2. You are always welcome to borrow my guitar. Note: Get 1 scratch on it and you're dead meat.
3. Can't help you there.
4. Please keep me informed!!
5. Was in cross country teams for both secondary & JC school days, and ended up with a cracked hip from too much running. So, Covenant Runners sound good for you :)
I say heck with the presenter and the notes on the calories! Haha... if eating 1 siew mai a day satisfies all of us, and for the rest of the day we can eat vegetables, then no one will be in business liao. All turn to sell salad!
ReplyDeleteI tell you, important thing is to couple proper diet with exercise. Eat smaller portions at regular timings, eg. breakfast at maybe 7plus am (don't eat those bee hoon and chai tao kwey anymore!! Switch to simple porridge!), morning tea at 10am (get a fruit or high fibre biscuit), lunch at 12pm (don't overeat here), afternoon tea at 4pm (another fruit or biscuit), dinner at 7pm (eat less carbo here, since less activity in night, unless you going jogging at midnight or night cycling!), then stop eating liao. Let you intestines have a rest for the next 12 hours. If really feel hungry in the night, resist cooking instant noodles. Instead, have a slice of wholemeal bread will do.
Ok, i starting to sound like dietitian liao.... should charge you some good money for such precious advice man. Wahahaha....
oh waily waily waily... :P
