hmmm, been reading funny announcements on the Multiply message board. There will appear announcements of people who are supposedly new in my network. When I clicked to read it, the person would habe been someone whom I've already seen before on the Multiply board.
Glitch/bug in the system, or is this Multiply's way of random "celebriti-zation" of its citizenry?
It's their algorithm of calculating who's "in your network". I think when you chalk up enough common friends or when you click on them enough, they get added to "your network". I asked them about their system once when some friends' friends weren't in my "close network", and they replied it's some complicated patented algorithm. Oh well, so far it's been working... not too accurate, but good enough lah... so that I don't get all kinds of posts in my message board from people I don't know.
ReplyDeleteI think it has something to do with the groups that you joined. Seems like these messages have only appeared after i joined the CEFC Christian books trading post group.
