*Have this song ringing in my head as I'm writing this entry *
Reach Sentral KL early in the morning around 7.30-ish - lemme tell you, sleeping on the upper bunk on the overnight train is not much restful, as compared to sleeping at the lower bunk! Nearly led my friend to wander around KL, as we sough to reach our destination at Puduraya. Turns out one does not stop at Station Pudu to get to the bus terminal. Think must be the grogginess of not enough sleep. Thank God that we still managed to get to our stop, even though we paid the train fare for a few more stops.
We're supposed to check in our hotel around 11 am. So we dumped our luggage at the hotel reception and went gai gai around "Ji Cheong Gai", Chinatown area. Had 皮蛋粥 with 油炸鬼and 冬瓜茶 (Century-egg with pork floss congee 与 "oil fried ghost"/fried dough stick 和 winter-melon juice) that's quite average. Sat there for quite a while to people-watch, before walking 1 round round Chinatown. Went back to shower and sleep at the hotel. My friend arrived with another friend, who is a food connoisseur. She took us back to almost the same spot and let us tasted great wonton mee (云吞面)! I nearly wanted to lick the plate clean of its gravy.
After that we went shopping for beads, as my friend is going into the beading business. She haggled and bargained for almost an hour. Me and my friends were just amused her making the proprietors sweat with her buying tactics. After the long wait, my friend rewarded us by taking us to sample the "best tiramisu in KL". And I must say, it's worth every cent of the RM25 price. Not only the quality of the cake, but also the ambiance and setting of the place - I felt almost out of place with my jeans and sandals in the nice, nice hotel lobby. Plus, it was a good time catching up with old friends and new alike, cracking silly jokes and ribbing one another.
Well, to make room for more tummy space for dinner afterwards, my friends took us shopping around town, and we walked and walked and walked and walked... :D It was a good and cheap way to exercise. We didn't go to the usual place at Jalan Alor for dinner this time round, as my friend said we should try something new. Her friend (our new friend) recommended a new place for BBQ chicken wings that were even better than the ones found at Jalan Alor! Amazing!! Then we "tabao" the chicken wings and went to another place for steam-boat. Ate for about an hour, just cooking the food slowly in the steam-boat and chatting as we ate. Then our new friend again took us to a great desert place for shaved-ice with mango sago (芒果捞)~ All in all, didn't stop eating till past 11.30pm ah... :D
The next day, we wanted to go to church for Sunday service. So our new friend offered to bring us to her church at DUMC Sea Park. Took us for dim sum (点心) breakfast before the start of service - so we fed our spiritual man physically before the start of service. After that, we travelled back to fetch our friend from her place, who chose to go church with us in her dreams.* Our new friend again took us to a marvellous place in Klang for "bak ku teh" (肉骨茶). It seems that over there, the "bak ku teh" is very much different from our Singaporean flavor. Theirs is more of a stewy and broth kind, as compared to ours. I wolfed down at least 1 and a 1/2 plate of rice, and must have eaten 2 big bones of pork flesh with the fat and collagen. Think I frightened our new friend a bit with my voracious appetite.
After that wonderful meal, went back to my friend's place to chill and rest, before heading back to our hotel to check out our luggage, as well as to hunt down my Ramli burger... All in all, it was a good trip~

* No kidding! She was too tired from her overnight working on her beads, and it actually shows in her beading. There was particularly one string of beads which we found the combination to be extremely weird. So my friend was quick to point it out that the strange assortment probably came around 5am, just before my friend hit the sack. Moral of teh story: Don't do work till so late at night!
N.B. No pictures will be posted up, so as not to cause you all to salivate beyond your imagination.
