on being blessed by more receiving than giving this Christmas...

before thou wag thou holy finger at "moi" at the seemingly secularist title, STOP!* It is not a commandment I am giving.** Just an observation on my own life this holiday season. Never really had the habit of giving people gifts during Christmas.^ So this year, as usual, wasn't prepared to give gifts.

However, am much blessed by the multiple gifts I have received from various family, friends, and loved ones. Be them big or small, expensive or not, practical or whimsical, I treasure them all. Not because of the item per se, but more of the thoughts behind the giving of gifts.

Eh, if you do not see me using your gifts, please do not be upset. Some things I just cannot use without losing my "manliness"^^... How do a regular guy carry off having stuffed toys in his apparel?? Unthinkable...

Anyway, back to the thread, I hope you have been blessed by giving and receiving to and from God and the people around you. As the year 2006 draws to a close, take some time to catalogue the good and bad things that has happened in your life, and give thanks to God... My prayer for you in 2007 is that you'll be able to give and receive to the people around you in the magnitude that you have given and received from God.

*muahahaha, broken the 4th wall for the 1st time, I believe

** anyway, who am I to you? :p Just a regular guy, writing irregularly in his blog regulaire... Don't have to follow what I say, you know...

^eh, in fact, think I'm not the "giving" sort of person...

^^ not true, actually. Our identity and confidence is solely rested upon our relationship with Christ, and not on externalities. Above statement is just a "smoke-screen".... muahahhhaa!
