on bringing my parents out to their first Japanese dinner

ok, it's more of my mom's first actually. It was her Chinese calender birthday last Friday, so we* all took her and my dad out to Ichiban Boshi at Causeway Point for dinner. We've been celebrating her birthday by eating out at the same "zhi char" (煮炒) stall these past few years. So I decided we'll do something different this year, and bring them to somewhere new.

My mom is adverse to trying out new stuff at first. Somemore, she's been brainwashed by all the Japan Hour program we watched, and is convinced the Japanese love to eat their meat raw (the sashimi kind, with the animals still alive and trashing as they go down the throats of the show hosts/comperes). Nonetheless, I assured her the place we're going to will be serving cooked food, so that allayed her fears a bit.

As we can't place reservations for dinners, I gotta rush back down after my course on Friday evening. Thank God I managed to get a table, as the queue was still relatively short at 6.25pm-ish. My family arrived not long after I sat down, and we sat down to enjoy a good meal together. Okay, so it was not the most fanciful, or most expensive Japanese food restaurant; but we still enjoyed ourselves a lot. Guess it's the company that matters more~ ;D
