The Golden Compass (2007)

Eh, found it to be so-so. I don't think the film was long enough, so the pacing and the story-telling was kinda abrupt and halting. The reportedly "Anti-God"/"Anti-Church" elements didn't came across that strongly. I was expecting something more spectacular - instead this felt like a let-down...

Nicole Kidman was gorgeous and real enough as the villianess. Newcomer Dakota Blue Richards acted well as the feisty protagonist. We shall be watching her progress with interest^.

    This is the first of three parts. It is designed to get a stamp of approval so that the other parts will be accepted without verification, allowing the anti-God message to fly in under the radar.
